Kigoma Project Update

Back in June I was lucky enough to go on a trip with 23 amazing individuals to Tanzania through Soles4Souls to distribute shoes to children in need. (You can read about it here.) I had no idea what it would be like or what kind of people I would meet but it turned out to be one of the most amazing things I've ever done. Since we got back we have all been continuously working on how to help going forward. We are currently working on getting books and school supplies to these places. We all believe that education is the key to helping them out of poverty and we need your help!

Most schools in Africa are lucky if they have one book per classroom. Can you imagine going to school & having to share one book with the entire class including the teacher? The good news is that the cost per book is extremely low compared to the cost of textbooks in the US. The bad news is that we need books for every grade level and every class. Our goal is to raise $6000 and that's where you come in!

We have set up a fundraising website with the help of Soles4Souls and we even have a name! The Kigoma Project. And it's tax deductible! I will be going back in January with Soles4Souls and we are planning on being able to get the books for them then. I will continue to share the story of The Kigoma Project with you so that you can see what a difference you are making. Please feel free the share this post or the donation page to all of your friends and family. The more awareness we have the better the world can be.
